On separate newsprint sheets, write the following titles: Our World, Our (Worldwide) Church, Our Nation, Our Neighborhood, Our Congregation, Our Family & Friends. Post the sheets on the walls around your meeting room. Invite individuals to gather under the heading of their choice and then share and list prayer concerns in their chosen category. End with a time of spoken or silent prayer using the lists of concerns created. (Session 3, Into the Deep) |

Divide into two groups: optimists and pessimists. The pessimists will brainstorm a list of historic events that tend to lead us to despair and hopelessness. The optimists will brainstorm a list of events that give us reason to hope. Repeat the exercise listing events in biblical history. Post the lists. (Session 2, No Small Wonder) |
